Woking 22 Sept 1914. Addressed to Mr Kit Emmett, Cambridge Hotel, Clayton Street, Newcastle. Woking.

Dear Kit, Which[sic] you were here, any amount of apples.I am getting on a treat, always thinkng of the lads. I could not get a stamp at this place, all the shops were closed. from your pal Mat, wrote in a hurry, write later. I fancy that your nearly swanked[??]. [This is presumably addressed to Kit Emmett the elder (Grandfather Emmett) but why addressed to Cambridge Hotel?]
